The City of Fairfield invites the community to gather downtown this Saturday, July 4, for the Fourth of July Parade and the lighting of the restored Fairfield Arch.
The arch lighting will begin at 10 a.m. and serve as the official kickoff to the parade. Community members are encouraged to arrive early for the unveiling and stay for the parade. The grandstand for the parade will be located at Texas Street and Jackson Street.
This year's celebration also highlights Fairfield's participation in America 250, the nationwide commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the United States and the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. As an America 250 Pledge City, Fairfield joins communities across the country in recognizing this historic milestone.
The Fairfield Arch has stood downtown since October 23, 1925, as a symbol of civic pride, community identity, and local history. The Fairfield Lions Club, in partnership with the City of Fairfield, led the restoration campaign to refresh the arch with new paint, restored lighting, and commemorative plaques honoring Fairfield's heritage and America 250 designation.
Residents, families, visitors, and community partners are invited to take part in this historic downtown celebration.
