Meeting with the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, concluded her trip to Asia with a stop in Tashkent today, where she was received by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The meeting provided an opportunity to deepen the dialogue that was launched in May 2025 with the adoption of the Joint Declaration on Strengthening Strategic Partnership Relationships, on the occasion of President Meloni's visit to the region.

In this context, the two leaders discussed the main theatres of crisis as well as key sectors of bilateral cooperation, with a particular focus on critical raw materials and the agro-industry.

Lastly, underscoring the strategic nature of relations between Italy and Uzbekistan, President Meloni and President Mirziyoyev agreed to remain in close contact.
