The Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT), as part of its Vision Zero initiative and in partnership with Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS), is hosting a 'walk to school day' event with students, teachers, and volunteers at Carter-Lawrence Elementary School.
WHO: Remarks by Carter-Lawrence Elementary School Principal Dr. Sherleta Sanders, NDOT Director Diana Alarcon, and MNPS School Board Member TK Fayne.
WHAT: The first Wednesday of October marks National Walk to School Day, an annual event that promotes community support and brings attention to the safety concerns of neighborhoods so that students can have safe routes to school. Carter-Lawrence Elementary School is one of 65 Metro Nashville schools hosting a 'walk to school day' event in Davidson County.
