Pre-College Programs Named Among Nation’s Top 100

Loyola Marymount University's Pre-College Summer Programs have earned national recognition as one of the Top 100 Summer Programs for 2025, according to Teen Life and U.S. News & World Report. This distinction highlights LMU's commitment to delivering exceptional academic experiences for high school students seeking college-level learning.

Adding to this achievement, LMU's engineering and entrepreneurship tracks were ranked among the Top 25 programs in their respective categories, affirming LMU's reputation for excellence in preparing future innovators and STEM leaders.

"We are thrilled to be recognized among the best summer programs in the nation," said Ashley Okimoto, LMU early outreach director. "Our pre-college offerings give students a unique chance to explore academic interests, experience college life, and build skills that set them apart."

Built for high school students, ages 14-18, pre-college programs emphasize:

  • Hands-on learning: Students engage in real-world projects, from designing prototypes in engineering labs to developing business plans for entrepreneurial ventures.
  • College experience: Participants live on LMU's Los Angeles campus, gaining a true sense of college life.
  • Career readiness: Programs emphasize critical thinking, collaboration, and leadership skills that set students apart in college applications.

LMU Pre-College offers a diverse range of courses, including film production, dance, communication studies, journalism, engineering, business, and more. The program is designed to inspire and challenge motivated high school students.
