Ambassador of Thailand to Sweden had a discussion with Executive Director of the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (RWI)
On 15 September 2025, Ambassador Arunrung Phothong Humphreys, Ambassador of Thailand to Stockholm had a discussion with Mr. Peter Lundberg, Executive Director, and Mr. Rolf Ring, Deputy Executive Director of the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (RWI), Ms. Pittara Navarat, Minister Counsellor, and Ms. Patlapa Thipraksa, Interpreter and Cultural Affairs Coordinator, also attended the meeting.
Both sides exchanged views on the work of human rights and humanitarian law extensively. Ambassador Arunrung shared with the Institute's Director mission of the Royal Thai Embassy and learned about the history, current projects, and future vision of Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (RWI), including its intention to establish a branch in Thailand. Both sides discussed opportunities for expanding academic and policy cooperation, highlighting how the institutions' work resonates with business and human rights issues, which Thailand prioritizes and drives forward.
RWI Founded in 1984 at Lund University, Sweden, the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law is named after the courageous Swedish diplomat Raoul Wallenberg, who saved tens of thousands of Jews during World War II. Today, RWI is recognized as a leading academic and policy institution advancing human rights and humanitarian law worldwide through research, education, and international partnerships.
