First Street and Essex Street on ramps Remain Open

Caltrans will close the Sterling St. on ramp, for three nights beginning Monday, August 24-Thursday, August 27, from 12:45 a.m. to 7 a.m. each night. The Sterling St. on ramp is one of the last entrances from San Francisco to the eastbound I-80 San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge (SFOBB). Motorists are advised to use an alternate approach such as the First Street or the Essex Street on ramps.

The Sterling St. on ramp closures are necessary to complete ongoing SFOBB work including the west span joint rehabilitation project and the structural steel painting and spall repair project. To learn more about these exciting SFOBB projects, visit sfhighwayprojects.com.
