Governor Ron DeSantis Appoints Five to the Tampa Port Authority

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Christopher Carrere and Mark Kaplan and the reappointment of Patrick Allman, William "Ted" Conner, and Chad Harrod to the Tampa Port Authority.

Christopher Carrere

Carrere is a Yacht Broker at Galati Yacht Sales. Active in his community, he is a member of the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation Executive Committee, the International Yacht Brokers Association, and the Certified Professional Yacht Brokers. Carrere earned his bachelor's degree in economics from the University of the South, Sewanee.

Mark Kaplan

Kaplan is currently retired and previously served as the Vice President of Government and Community Relations at the University of Florida. Active in his community, he previously served as Chief of Staff for the Executive Office of Governor Jeb Bush and was a member of the State Board of Education. Kaplan earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Florida and his juris doctor from Florida State University.

Patrick Allman

Allman is the General Manager of Odyssey Manufacturing Company. He is a veteran of the United States Navy, retiring with the rank of Captain. Active in his community, Allman is a member of the Tampa Propeller Club and the Southeast Desalting Association. He earned his bachelor's degree in nuclear engineering from the University of Virginia and his master's degree in business administration from the University of Tampa.

William "Ted" Conner

Conner is the Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for Old Republic National Title Insurance Company. Active in his community, he is a member of the American Land Title Association's State Regulatory and Legislative Committee and previously served as Chair of the Florida Land Title Association Governmental Affairs Committee. Conner earned his bachelor's degree in business administration and his juris doctor from the University of Florida.

Chad Harrod

Harrod is the Chief Executive Officer of Harrod Properties, Inc. and Harrod Healthcare Real Estate. Active in his community, he is a member of the Young Presidents' Organization and is the Vice Chair and former Chairman of the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation. Harrod earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Austin.

These appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
