EXPERIENCE HAWORTH DESIGNLAB 2025 AT NEOCON

May 22, 2025 - Now in its third year, Haworth DesignLab is adding more exhibits to explore and expanding to a new location. The 2025 experience will debut five new exhibitions, host a speaker series, include a café and feature past exhibits. Haworth DesignLab will be on the third floor in Suite 399, THE MART, around the corner from Haworth's showroom.

The 2025 Haworth DesignLab designers and their pieces are:

  • Renowned architect and designer from Milan, Italy, Patricia Urquiola curates Haworth DesignLab and will be participating with her own exhibition this year. Uroboro is a striking serpentine sculpture that pays homage to the Chinese zodiac sign. It is an interpretation of the classic ouroboros, symbolizing renewal, transformation and the concept of infinity. Uroboro was first shown at Milan Design Week 2025.
  • Cristina Moreno, from Los Angeles, CA, celebrates the organic and imperfect, creating pieces that embody the beauty of handcrafted design. Moreno's piece is the Mare Coffee Table. As a true homage to nature, it highlights raw elegance and timeless artistry with a hand-carved onyx surface subtly echoing ocean ripples.
  • Steven Haulenbeek is from Kalamazoo, MI and produces unique objects and furniture through rigorous material and process experimentation. Haulenbeek's Resin-Bonded Sand Chandelier begins with waste material, or with as little waste as possible, and utilizes common casting sand.
  • Luam Melake, from New York, NY, oscillates between material research, exploration of form and the creation of functional furniture. With Melake's piece, the Listening Chair, a single user can sit in four different positions, allowing opportunities to direct gaze and posture toward others in the room.
  • Marquel Williams investigates the relationship between material and form through his independent design practice in Los Angeles, CA. Inspired by the use of structural supports found in architectural buildings, his Beam Lounger balances a sense of rigid industrialism with utility.

Haworth DesignLab is an initiative established to celebrate new perspectives and artistic visions in the world of design. This collective of designers is exploring and experimenting with different approaches -- looking beyond the office furniture industry to create unexpected, emotive and immersive experiences. Launched in 2023, Haworth DesignLab provides a platform to recognize, support and engage with emerging designers whose work demonstrates exceptional experimentation in form and materials.
