The University of Minnesota Crookston will host the Region 1 FFA Leadership Retreat and Conference August 3 and 4 with approximately 125 youth leaders from grades 9-12 in attendance. This two-day experience focuses on leadership development, career exploration, and agricultural innovation for FFA members across the region. Student leaders will stay overnight at UMN Crookston, tour the campus and engage in a variety of agriculture and leadership experiences, all while exploring the future of agriculture and its importance.
The Region 1 FFA Leadership Conference is an annual event hosted by the Region 1 FFA Association for FFA members in its district. It's designed to be a leadership-focused gathering where students, advisors, and district officers come together for workshops, networking, and recognition.
UMN Crookston is home to the state's only Collegiate FFA student organization. Its members are involved in agricultural education and leadership development at the college level. The chapter provides networking opportunities with industry professionals allowing students to explore internship and career paths, plus participate in community services activities related to agriculture.
Retreat and conference collaborating partners include UMN Crookston, Northwest Research and Outreach Center, West Polk County Farm Bureau, Minnesota Wheat Research & Promotion Council and Minnesota Association of Wheat Growers, Polk County Corn and Soybean Growers, Marshall County Corn and Soybean Growers and Walmart Supercenter - Crookston.
The Minnesota FFA Association is organized into eight regions with Region 1 consisting of several counties in northwestern and central Minnesota. Each region hosts leadership conferences, career and leadership development events, and have their own student officer team. For more information, visit https://www.mnffa.org/regions
