HARRISBURG - Rep. Jamie Flick (R-Lycoming/Union) issued the following statement regarding the early morning arson at the governor's residence in Harrisburg. Gov. Josh Shapiro and his family were safely evacuated by state police. The fire, which caused a "significant amount of damage," was extinguished by Harrisburg firefighters.
"I was shocked to learn of the arson attack on the governor's residence in Harrisburg overnight. Hearing of Gov. Shapiro and his family's safety, my next thought was anger over such recklessness, disregard and disrespect. There is no room for hatred like this, driving whoever is responsible for this attack to put the lives of the Shapiro family and the first responders at such risk. I offer my condolences to the governor and his family and gratitude for the quick response to contain the fire."
