Vermont Framework for K-8 Social Studies

Audience: Superintendents, K-8 Administrators, Curriculum Directors, K-8 Educators

The Vermont Framework for K-8 Social Studies was developed by the Vermont Agency of Education (AOE) to assist and support curriculum leaders as they write or revise curriculum for their districts. The framework relies heavily on what has been developed nationally, is based on the Vermont State Board of Education adopted College, Career, and Civic Life Framework for State Standards (C3), and encompasses a lens aligned to current equity work. The AOE is inviting potential implementation partners to express interest in learning more about how this new framework is focused on supporting equitable Social Studies outcomes for all students. Selected partners would be asked to enter into an agreement to implement the framework in a local context, with the understanding that the school year is already underway. Those interested in learning more can sign up for an information session webinar on December 15th from 8:00 - 9:00 AM. The session will also allow time for questions and answers; please register if interested in receiving a recording of the session.
