COLUMBUS -- Ohio Department of Insurance Director Judith L. French has been named a member of three National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) committees - Life Insurance and Annuities, Financial Condition, and International Insurance Relations - highlighting the selection of staff to 19 NAIC committee and task force roles in 2026. French was also selected as a member of the Risk-Based Capital Model Governance Task Force.
In addition, Ohio Department of Insurance Assistant Chief Examiner/Analyst Zach Wheatley and Chief Property and Casualty Actuary of Product Regulation and Actuarial Services Tom Botsko were appointed Chair of the Examination Oversight Task Force and Vice Chair of the Capital Adequacy Task Force, respectively.
The NAIC provides expertise, data, and analysis for insurance commissioners to effectively regulate the insurance industry and protect consumers. Founded in 1871, the U.S. standard-setting organization is governed by insurance regulators from the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and five U.S. territories.
