Driver Dies Following Last Saturday's Crash On Elm Hill Pike

The driver of a Mazda M3 has died following Saturday's 5 p.m. crash on Elm Hill Pike at Ermac Drive. The investigation indicates David Lagrone, 48, was traveling westbound in his Mazda when he made a left hand turn at the intersection in front of an oncoming Chevrolet Impala.

The impact of the crash caused the Chevrolet to travel into a parking lot and grass area before coming to rest upside down at the bottom of a creek. Both the 23-year-old driver and passenger of the Chevrolet were transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where they were treated and released.

Lagrone was transported to Vanderbilt where he succumbed to his injuries sustained in the crash on Thursday.

There was no evidence of impairment at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
