MERRTT Program

Dates: Jan. 12-17, 2025. Location: Evansville Fire Department Administration Building (Vanderburgh County).

Description:

This training program is designed to take the complex topic of a radiological accident response and break it down into easily understood modules and hands-on practical exercises. Students will receive a comprehensive review ensuring their understanding of radioactive material, radiological survey instruments and decontamination techniques for handling radiologically contaminated victims. Hands-on practical exercises verify the student's understanding and knowledge. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a certificate from the Department of Energy's Transportation Emergency Preparedness Program, including up to 10.5 hours of continuing education hours (CEH) for medical response personnel.
