Optimum Announces an over $160,000 Donation to Support Teachers Through its Partnership with DonorsChoose

This Teacher Appreciation Week, Optimum is empowering education and innovation with donations to teachers across its service area, strengthening classrooms and supporting the communities where its customers live and work

As part of Optimum's continued partnership with national education nonprofit DonorsChoose, the company is proud to announce an over $160,000 donation to support classroom projects throughout its service area, including the Bronx, New York, Long Island, NY, Stamford, CT, Charleston, WV, Ruston, LA, Georgetown, TX, Flagstaff, AZ, among others.

Teacher Appreciation Week, held during the first full week of May, is an opportunity to honor and recognize the contributions that teachers have on their students and communities. Optimum's investment celebrates the dedication and passion of educators across its communities and helps provide access to the tools, technologies and experiences that support student education, growth and success.

Optimum will also be participating in several community events across its service area to honor and celebrate teachers. These events include:

• Stamford, CT: Distributing DonorsChoose gift cards to 20 educators at the Stamford Public Education Foundation's Excellence in Education Awards.
• Westchester County, NY: Providing DonorsChoose gift cards to 20 educators at The STEM Alliance's annual STEM-tastic event.
• Hendersonville, NC: Allocating DonorsChoose gift cards to 25 teachers at Henderson County Education Foundation Education Celebration.

For a sixth year in a row, Optimum is supporting public school teachers, students, and classrooms across its service area through its partnership with national education nonprofit DonorsChoose.

This renewed commitment by Optimum has helped fund classroom projects in hundreds of communities that enable access to resources and experiences to support student success. To date, the company has funded nearly 16,000 classroom projects in over 6,500 schools across the country with a specific focus on STEM-based projects that encourage curiosity, problem-solving, and innovation among students.
