The VA Home Loan Program Reform Act has passed the Senate and now awaits to be signed into law.
The bill is sponsored by Representative Derrick Van Orden and hopes to solve the issue of housing among veterans.
The bill requires Veteran Affairs (VA) to prevent foreclosures of veteran housing. It will allow the VA to make a partial claim on a veteran's loan if it's in default or at risk of default. The bill also increases funding for the VA's Grant and Per Diem Program.
The goal of the bill is to give veterans a safety net for those facing financial hardships. Additionally, the bill aims to improve the VA loan process, making it more efficient and effective for veterans.
