Chinese PLA Navy's 989 Task Group Concludes Visit to Malaysia and Heads for Indonesia

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov. 3 -- The Chinese PLA Navy's 989 Task Group concluded its four-day friendly visit to Malaysia and set off for Indonesia on December 3, 2025.

During the visit, service members of the Chinese naval task group visited the National Hydrographic Center of Malaysia and conduct exchange activities with young sailors of the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN).

The Chinese naval task group organized several open ship day activities. Nearly a thousand people, including local overseas Chinese, representatives of Chinese students, and sailors of the Royal Malaysian Navy, boarded the Chinese ships for visits.

The Changbaishan ship held deck reception on the evening of December 1 and over 200 guests from both sides were invited to participate.

In recent years, the naval relations between China and Malaysia have maintained a long-term healthy and stable development, with mechanisms such as regular dialogues, ship visits and training exchanges in place. This visit holds positive significance for promoting the establishment of a high-level strategic China-Malaysia community with shared future.
