DENVER - Today, Governor Polis appointed Kyle W. Brenton to the Colorado Court of Appeals. The appointment fills the vacancy created by the retirement of the Honorable Gilbert M. Román, and is effective August 1, 2026. Governor Polis also appointed Dalia D. Labrador to the Arapahoe County Court in the 18th Judicial District. The appointment fills a vacancy created by the appointment of the Honorable A. Danielle Touart to the 18th Judicial District Court, and is effective immediately.
Kyle W. Brenton
Mr. Brenton is an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Appellate Division of the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Colorado, a position he has held since 2021. His practice consists of appellate litigation on behalf of the United States. Previously, Mr. Brenton was an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Civil Division of the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Colorado (2018-2021); Of Counsel at Childs McCune LLC (2018); Attorney at Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP (2010-2018); and Law Clerk for Judge David M. Ebel, U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit (2009-2010). Mr. Brenton earned his B.A. from Vanderbilt University in 2000 and his J.D. from University of Minnesota Law School in 2009.
Dalia D. Labrador
Ms. Labrador is a Magistrate in the 18th Judicial District, a position she has held since 2023. Her docket consists primarily of criminal and domestic relations matters. Previously, Ms. Labrador was a Partner and Founder at G*Law Defense (2019-2025); Associate Attorney at Colorado Legal Defense Group (2018-2019); and Staff Attorney at Ryley Carlock & Applewhite (2018). Ms. Labrador earned her B.S. from University of South Florida in 2010 and her J.D. from Illinois Institute of Technology Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2017.
