HILLSBORO, OR - The Housing Authority of Washington County joined partners today to celebrate the opening of Dolores, a new 67-home affordable housing community at Walker Road in Hillsboro. The County provided 12 Regional Long-term Rental Assistance Vouchers and 8 Project-Based Vouchers to help extremely low-income families access stable housing.

"Affordable housing is essential to the health, stability, and economic strength of Washington County," said Washington County Board Chair Kathryn Harrington. "Dolores brings much - needed homes to Hillsboro and shows what cross-sector partnership can achieve. We are grateful for Hacienda CDC's leadership and commitment to serving Washington County families."

Developed by Hacienda CDC, Dolores is the organization's first affordable housing community in the county. The project provides one- to four-bedroom apartments for households earning 30% to 60% of the area median income, including 46 family-sized homes. Supportive housing delivered with New Narrative will serve people transitioning out of homelessness.

"Housing is the foundation for opportunity and prosperity, and projects like Dolores are exactly the kind of partnership Oregon needs to meet this moment," said Gov. Tina Kotek, who spoke at the event. "By creating affordable homes for families, we are creating stability and connection and building a stronger future for everyone."

Amenities include community space, a courtyard, children's play area, bike storage, and offices for property management and supportive services. The project also incorporates energy-efficient features such as rooftop solar and heat-pump systems.

Dolores was made possible through partnerships with the City of Hillsboro, Metro, Oregon Housing and Community Services, Beneficial State Bank, Red Stone Equity, New Narrative, Access Architecture, LMC Construction, and Northwest Real Estate Capital Corp.
