Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund Announces New Round of Statewide Endorsements, Backing 40 Statewide Candidates in 15 States

Everytown Endorsements Include Candidates Running in AZ, CA, CO, CT, GA, ID, MD, MI, MN, NV, NY, OK, PA, TN, and WI

NEW YORK - Today, Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund announced its latest round of statewide endorsements: 40 candidates across 15 states running for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, and Secretary of State. Electing gun sense champions in critical statewide races - along with flipping key state legislatures - will give states a much-needed check on the Trump administration's efforts to gut our gun laws and prevent the gun lobby from standing in the way of life-saving progress.

"Statewide offices like governor and attorney general are often where the battles over public safety laws are won or lost - which means electing committed gun safety champions to these roles can make all the difference," said John Feinblatt, president of Everytown for Gun Safety. "Today, we're endorsing 40 incredible leaders who will put public safety first and stand up to attempts from MAGA Republicans and the gun lobby to dismantle the life-saving progress we've fought so hard to make."

"Americans are fed up with elected leaders who obey the whims of the gun lobby over championing common-sense safety laws that keep violent weapons out of the wrong hands," said Angela Ferrell-Zabala, executive director of Moms Demand Action. "That's why millions of our volunteers are going all out to elect 40 committed gun safety champions to key seats like governor, attorney general, and secretary of state. Alongside flipping several key state legislatures, we'll build true 'gun sense trifectas' - state governments that resist deadly extremist agendas and make our communities safer for all of us."

Since then, the program has trained more than 1,800 volunteers across 47 states and Washington, D.C. More than 600 former volunteers from 43 states and Washington, DC have run and won since the program launched, and 15 states now have five or more former volunteers serving in the legislature. In the 2026 primaries, 85% of Moms Demand Action volunteers have won their races.
