The Rev. Barbara Brown Taylor, New York Times bestselling author, will be the featured speaker at Campbell University's Staley Lecture, at 7 p.m. on March 10.

Author of An Altar in the World, Learning to Walk in the Dark and Holy Envy: Finding Go in the Faith of Others, Taylor - the first Butnam Professor of Religion and Philosophy at Piedmont College - was elected to the Georgia Writer's Hall of Fame in 2024. Her lecture at Campbell will focus on Holy Envy, which recounts her moving discoveries of finding the sacred in unexpected places, "revealing how God delights in confounding our expectations."

The purpose of Campbell University's Department of Christian Studies annual Staley Lecture series is to invite innovative and relevant practitioners to speak from their expertise, passion, and faith formation while inviting college students to consider their own gifts, talents and calling. The lecture is open to Campbell students, faculty, staff, alumni, family and community members. Current students, faculty and staff must present their Campbell ID for entry.

Guests (alumni, family, community members) must register in advance and show their registration for entry. Your registration is for the lecture only. Each individual must complete registration.
