New International Crime Series ‘Road (WT)’ Explores Twisted Murders Across Borders

Netflix has confirmed the production of its new original series Road (WT) , an international crime thriller that follows two detectives as they track a series of gruesome cross-border murders, characterized by twisted bodies and mysterious dying messages. The story begins in Tokyo, when a disfigured body is found with a blood-inked message written in Korean. Soon after, a similar case emerges in Korea, this time written in Japanese. As the pattern continues, the authorities realize they are dealing with a serial killer operating across countries, prompting a joint investigation that takes the detectives from Seoul to Tokyo and beyond.

Acclaimed director Han Jun-hee ( D.P. , Coin Locker Girl , Weak Hero Class 1 ) is at the helm of production, promising a heightened sense of mystery and suspense. Based on the acclaimed webcomic "Blue Road," he shares his intent to create "a transnational detective story that follows two cops as they stop at nothing to catch the killer."

The cast brings together top talent from Korea and Japan, starring Son Suk-ku ( A Killer Paradox , D.P. ) as a detective from the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Mobile Investigation Unit, and Eita Nagayama ( Monster , Memories of Matsuko ) as a detective from the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department's First Investigation Division. Their dynamic partnership is set to be a highlight of the series.

Joining them are Kim Shin-rock ( Hellbound , The Plot ) as a facilitator of Korean-Japanese descent; Choi Sung-eun ( My Name is Loh Kiwan , The Sound of Magic ) as a National Intelligence Service agent assigned to the case; and Jung Jae-young ( Noryang: Deadly Sea , On the Verge of Insanity ) as a powerful figure of unknown identity.

Road (WT) promises an unpredictable journey through a series of bizarre murders, twisted clues, and mysterious messages that span Korea, Japan, and Hong Kong. Stay tuned for more updates on Road (WT) , coming soon only on Netflix.
