Pueblo Police Department Announces Change to Traffic Accident Reporting Process

Pueblo, CO― Effective March 31, 2025, the Pueblo Police Department will no longer take traffic accident reports in person at the department. All traffic accident reports will be submitted online utilizing the State of Colorado crash reporting website at: https://dmv.colorado.gov/report-accident.

Accidents that meet the following requirements should be reported via this process:

  • Minor crash with no injury
  • All vehicles can be removed from the scene
  • Driver exchange information on scene (name, phone number, Insurance information)
  • Private property accidents
  • Accidents involving wildlife

Once on the website, users will scroll down to the "If a Police Officer Was Not Present at the Scene" section and click "file a crash report online".

Accidents that do not meet the previous criteria may be reported by calling the non-emergency line at 719-553-2502 or 9-1-1 if an emergency. Reports of Hit & Runs will be accepted at the Pueblo Police Department lobby counter during normal business hours. Crashes involving commercial vehicles may also be reported at the department and will require the assistance of an officer.

Accidents reported on the State of Colorado website will not be investigated by the Pueblo Police Department and no citations will be issued.
