Land Bank Opens “Witnessing Glory, Sustaining Excellence” Badminton Exhibition in Celebration of Its 80th Anniversary

To celebrate the 80th anniversary of its founding and the 50th anniversary of its badminton team, Land Bank has organized a special exhibition titled "Witnessing Glory, Sustaining Excellence." The exhibition is being held at the Arts and Culture Corridor of Land Bank's Head Office from September 1 to November 25. Centered on the curatorial theme "The Arc of Time, The Trajectory of Flight," the exhibition features historical artifacts, player stories, and interactive experiences to look back on the Bank's half-century commitment to badminton and its efforts to nurture outstanding athletes. In line with the National Archives Administration, National Development Council's emphasis on the preservation of historical and cultural archives, the Bank has also incorporated archival materials to highlight key stories from its badminton team, underscoring the enduring value of these precious historical records.

The special exhibition is organized around three main themes. The first, "Taking Off: The Seeds of Badminton in the 1970s," takes visitors back to 1976, when the Land Bank badminton team was established. The display features rare historical records, including official documents, historical photographs, wooden badminton rackets, early uniforms, and team banners, illustrating the team's journey from its humble beginnings to steady growth and success.

The second theme, "The Golden Generation and Cradle of National Team Players," showcases the Bank's long-standing partnerships with schools to develop badminton talent. Over the years, Land Bank has gradually built a comprehensive development system spanning junior high schools, senior high schools, universities, and elite corporate teams. Through player interviews, training records, and behind-the-scenes footage, visitors can gain a firsthand look at the athletes' dedication off the court, as well as the Bank's long-term achievements in nurturing players and advancing the development of badminton in Taiwan.

The third theme, "Glory at the Peak: From Land Bank to the Top of the World," highlights the team's outstanding achievements on the global stage and celebrates its major triumphs at top-tier international competitions, including the Asian Games, the BWF World Championships, and the Olympic Games. The exhibition showcases iconic medals, trophies, and memorabilia from these international tournaments, including Wang Chi-Lin's two Olympic gold medals, along with his Olympic jerseys and shoes. These exhibits recreate the historic moments when the Bank's athletes competed globally and brought honor to Taiwan. Moving forward, Land Bank will continue to invest in the development of badminton talent and support more outstanding athletes as they strive for excellence.

The exhibition also features an interactive photo zone showcasing images of outstanding badminton players nurtured by the Bank. Through engaging interactive activities, visitors can select their favorite athletes, create personalized photos, and take home a unique keepsake.

The "Witnessing Glory, Sustaining Excellence" special exhibition is open to the public free of charge from September 1 to November 25. Opening hours are weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The exhibition is closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays. Limited-edition souvenirs will be available during the exhibition, along with occasional pop-up events featuring players such as Lin Chun-Yi, Wang Chi-Lin, and Chiu Hsiang-Chieh. Details of the pop-up events will be announced on Land Bank's official Facebook page. The public is warmly invited to visit the exhibition and experience the passion, dedication, and achievements that have shaped Taiwanese badminton.
