Governor Whitmer Makes Appointments to the Bench

LANSING, Mich. -Today, Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced the appointments of Nicole Matusko to the 55th District Court in Ingham County and Anna White to the 58th District Court in Ottawa County.

"I am proud to appoint Nicole and Anna to the bench," said Governor Whitmer. "These Michiganders are skilled legal professionals who bring years of experience and dedication to their communities. I am confident that they will serve the people of Michigan admirably and uphold the rule of law."

55th District Court - Ingham County

Nicole Matusko, of Mason, is chief assistant prosecutor at the Ingham County Prosecutor's Office, where she has served since 2009.

Nicole Matusko holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Grand Valley University and a Juris Doctor from Notre Dame Law School.

"I thank Governor Whitmer for her confidence in appointing me to the 55th District Court," said Matusko. "I am honored by the opportunity to continue to serve my community in this role."

This appointment was made to fill a partial term following the resignation of Judge Donald Allen, Jr. Judge Matusko's term will commence on August 10, 2026, and expire at twelve o'clock noon on January 1, 2029.

58th District Court - Ottawa County

Anna White, of Holland, is a deputy public defender at the Ottawa County Office of the Public Defender. White previously served as associate at Hann Persinger, P.C. White serves on the boards of directors of Movement West Michigan and Compassionate Heart Ministries and is also an advisory board member at Ridgepoint Community Church.

Anna White holds a Bachelor of Arts in social work from Hope College and a Juris Doctor from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School.

"It is truly an honor to be appointed to this seat," said White. "I care deeply about our community and I look forward to the opportunity to bring justice and dignity to every person who enters the Holland District Court."

This appointment was made to fill a partial term following the resignation of Judge Bradley Knoll. Judge White's term will commence on July 6, 2026, and expire at twelve o'clock noon on January 1, 2027.
