Sheriff's Office investigating fatal accident in Whitehall

INCIDENT SUMMARY: According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, the Washington County Sheriff's Office is investigating a Motor Vehicle Collision involving a Passenger Vehicle and a Tractor Trailer on State Route 4 in the Village of Whitehall at approximately 3:20 pm on September 26, 2025. A passenger vehicle was traveling northbound on State Route 4 in the Town of Whitehall, entering the Village limits and crossed the centerline of the highway and collided with a Tractor Trailer traveling southbound.

The female Driver of the passenger vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other occupants in the vehicle at the time of the collision. The driver of the Tractor Trailer was not injured and is cooperating with the investigation.
