Starting in June and going through August, Kids for College will provide sports and iLead camps at WNC.
Western Nevada College is excited to announce the return of its popular summer kids' camps, providing a fun and enriching experience for children ages 8-14. The "College for Kids" program will offer six total weeks of dynamic camps with something for everyone!
In partnership with Skiing is Believing, a multi-disciplinary sports camp will be offered June 23-27, July 14-18, July 21-25 and August 11-15. Each week will feature a wide range of activities, including mountain biking, hiking, martial arts, archery, and more, all taught by certified and experienced coaches. Camp Director Meghan Ochs, founder of Skiing is Believing, leads a dedicated team committed to delivering personalized coaching that gives kids a lifelong love of sports and physical activity.
Rounding out camp offerings is iLead, a camp combining outdoor exploration with team building and decision-making exercises designed to give children the confidence to step into - or continue - leadership. iLead will be held July 14-18 and July 21-25, headed up by camp director Rayce Malmed, a local teacher with the expertise to foster creativity, appreciation and empathy.
With a strong focus on safety, the camps will be fully self-contained within the Western Nevada College Carson City campus and feature small student-to-staff ratios. A detailed parent handbook will be provided with all necessary information.
