Bridge Replacement Project to Begin January 12 on Rosedale Road

Rosedale Road will be closed to all traffic at the bridge located approximately 0.80 miles north of the Mt. Vernon Road intersection for a bridge replacement project starting Monday, January 12. The Sac and Fox trail will also be closed at the Rosedale Road crossing. Access to local properties will be maintained. The project is expected to be completed in May. No detour will be posted for the project. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route.

The project involves replacing the current one-lane truss bridge, which was built in 1890, on Rosedale Road with a new bridge designed to meet modern standards and expected to last 75 years or more. Once the bridge is completed, it will safely accommodate wider, heavier loads and two-way traffic, improving safety, reliability, and access for residents, emergency services, and area traffic.

Motorists are reminded to comply with all traffic signs around construction projects. Do not drive around the barricades in place to protect the public and road crews.
