Claflin University will host the 2026 Torchbearers Legacy Luncheon, "Passing the Flame: Faith, Education, and Service Across Generations," on Tuesday, June 9, at 12:00 p.m. at the Greenville Convention Center in Greenville, S.C, in conjunction with the 2026 South Carolina United Methodist Church Annual Conference.
The luncheon celebrates often-unsung leaders within congregations-spouses, lay leaders, retired clergy, and alumni-while honoring the enduring connection between Claflin University and the South Carolina United Methodist Conference.
Proceeds from the event will support need-based scholarships for Claflin students, advancing the University's commitment to access, achievement, and lifelong impact.
"The Torchbearers Legacy Luncheon is a powerful expression of Claflin's mission in action," said Willie Jude II, Vice President for Institutional Advancement. "It honors those who have faithfully served while investing in students who will carry that legacy forward through lives of purpose and leadership."
The luncheon message will be delivered by Rev. Calvin Alston, Jr., Class of 1979, a distinguished alumnus and retired district superintendent in the West Ohio Conference.
Sponsorships, table reservations, and individual tickets are available online at https://alumni.claflin.edu/2026-torchbearers-legacy-luncheon.
