Work to improve the safety of the Prince's Palace glacis, which overhangs the bottom of Rampe Major, Avenue de la Porte Neuve, Place d'Armes and Boulevard Charles III will be undertaken to eliminate any risk of a rockslide.

The initial phase of the work will begin on Thursday 3 October at the bottom of Rampe Major, near the police station. There will be no impact on pedestrians.

In parallel, ahead of the subsequent phases, a temporary protective walkway will be installed on the pavement that runs along the rocky slope between the Place d'Armes bus stop at the bottom of the Rampe Major and the Boulevard Charles III bus stop. The walkway will be installed between 7 pm and 1 am in the morning from 7 October to 8 November. When necessary, pedestrians will be assisted by a control barrier and a traffic officer. Every precaution will be taken to reduce the noise impact of this work.

The walkway will make it possible to keep traffic flowing and pedestrians safe throughout the duration of the work, which will continue on this portion of the glacis until 20 December 2024.
