HaDEA is looking for expert evaluators in the fields of AI, robotics and sensing technologies

Horizon Europe is the European Union's research and innovation framework programme for 2021-2027. Cluster 4: Digital, Industry and Space supports research and innovation across advanced digital technologies, industrial leadership and strategic autonomy, contributing to Europe's long-term competitiveness and resilience. Within the digital area of cluster 4, HaDEA is seeking experts with strong scientific, technical and industrial backgrounds on the subjects of sensing technologies, AI agents, and intelligent robotics. Specifically:

Advanced and Innovative Materials with Digital and Sensing Capabilities: Experts are sought with experience in innovative advanced materials and multifunctional surfaces targeting low-cost Innovative Advanced Materials based sensing solutions, for various applications including environmental and health monitoring. Relevant profiles include specialists in materials science, smart and multifunctional materials, manufacturing and production technologies, sensing technologies as well as the integration of materials into application systems e.g. portable IoT devices and wearables systems. Experience with industrial deployment, scalability and sustainability of advanced materials solutions is considered an asset.

Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Digital Systems: HaDEA is looking for experts with in-depth knowledge of artificial intelligence, particularly in the development and application of next-generation AI systems and agents. This includes expertise in agentic AI architectures, autonomous and adaptive systems, multi-agent systems, trustworthy and explainable AI, and the deployment of AI solutions in real-world application domains such as industry, mobility, health, energy or public services.

Intelligent Robotics and Human-Centric Automation: Professionals with experience in robotics and intelligent automation are encouraged to apply. Relevant expertise covers agile and adaptive robotic platforms, autonomous and collaborative robots, human-robot interaction, intelligent control systems, and integration of robotics into industrial and service environments. Experience in deploying robotics solutions outside laboratory settings, including safety, reliability and user interaction aspects, is particularly valuable.

Digital-Physical Integration and System Engineering: Experts with a system-level perspective on digital-physical integration are also needed. This includes experience in cyber-physical systems, embedded intelligence, integration of AI and robotics with physical components, and end-to-end system engineering approaches enabling robust, scalable and interoperable solutions.

For further information on the digital calls, please see the recordings of the Horizon Europe Cluster 4 Info Days (sensing technologies , AI agents , and intelligent robotics ) or consult the Horizon Europe Work Programme 2026-2027.

HaDEA welcomes applications from experts from academia, research organisations, industry, SMEs and public bodies, including those with interdisciplinary and cross-sector experience.

How to Apply

Interested experts are invited to register or update their profile in the European Commission's expert database. Registration does not guarantee selection but allows HaDEA to identify suitable profiles for upcoming evaluation sessions related to the 2026 Digital calls.
