Proxy voting for maternity reasons: press point with the President and rapporteur (Thursday 12.30 CET)

Following the vote on a legislative initiative to introduce a proxy voting option for late pregnancy and early motherhood, Parliament's President and the rapporteur will speak to the media.

Under the proposed rule change, an MEP who is pregnant or has recently given birth may delegate her plenary vote to another MEP for up to three months before the estimated date of birth and six months after childbirth.

Who: European Parliament President Roberta Metsola and rapporteur Juan Fernando López Aguilar (S&D, Spain).

When: Thursday 13 November, c. 12:30 CET.

Where: European Parliament in Brussels, outside the plenary chamber (Hemicycle), Paul-Henri Spaak building, 3rd floor.

How: Accredited journalists can join in person and are kindly requested to ask questions in English, since there will be no interpretation. The press point will be streamed live and become available on.
