Convicted Felon Arrested For October Shooting On Delta Avenue

A convicted felon is back in custody this morning after Specialized Investigations Division detectives identified him as the gunman responsible for an October shooting on Delta Avenue that injured a man. Tarell Lewis, 43, was allegedly involved in an argument with the 32-year-old victim's girlfriend when the victim tried to intervene, and Lewis began firing shots towards them from his vehicle before fleeing.

The victim was shot in the ankle and taken to General Hospital by his girlfriend.

Lewis was located on Wednesday in Cheatham Place and detectives observed him making drug deals with multiple people. During his arrest, marijuana was recovered from his vehicle and pockets.

Lewis was charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, felony drug possession and being a felon in possession of a weapon. He is jailed in lieu of $157,500 bond.
