Adrienne Krone, associate professor of environmental science and sustainability, recently wrote Free-Range Religion: Alternative Food Movements and Religious Life in the United States.
The work investigates ethical connections to food or diet and how they intertwine with one's religious identities. Beyond what an individual eats, Krone examines how food is produced, distributed, and prepared within the food system.
Krone focused on following two Christian and two Jewish food organizations to better understand American religion, as well as understudied alternative food movements.
