City of Killeen Shares 2025 Citizen Survey Results

Survey highlights resident satisfaction and priorities for the future.

KILLEEN, Texas (November 7, 2025) - The City of Killeen has released the results of its 2025 Citizen Community Survey, providing valuable insights into resident satisfaction and future priorities. Conducted by the ETC Institute, the survey gathered feedback from over 545 households through a combination of online and mail-in methods, yielding a margin of error of ±4.2% and a confidence level of 95%.

"We truly value the insights provided by our residents," said Mayor Debbie Nash-King. "Surveys like this directly inform our priorities and reinforce our commitment to creating a safer, more vibrant community for all."

Key findings from the survey indicated that Killeen residents rated their satisfaction levels above the national average in four out of 20 assessed areas, particularly in public safety, emergency response, water services, and trash collection. Notably, over 80% of residents expressed satisfaction with ambulance services, 73% with trash collection, and 65% with water service. The Killeen Fire Department received notable acclaim, with 85% of residents praising the department's professionalism and 80% commending its customer service.

While there has been an overall decrease in citizen satisfaction from 2023, now at 61%, there are positive trends, including a 3% increase in municipal golf course services, as well as a 2% increase in airport facilities. Residents pinpointed key areas for improvement over the next couple of years, including street maintenance, code enforcement, police services, and animal control, while expressing lower satisfaction levels with parks and recreation facilities.

This survey marks Killeen's second within two years, further underscoring the city's commitment to aligning long-range planning, budget priorities, transparent communications, and resident expectations.
