Congresswoman Tenney Applauds President Trump Signing the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act into Law

Washington, D.C. - Congresswomen Claudia Tenney (NY-24)today applauded President Trump's signing of the bipartisan Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act, legislation she cosponsored to expand nutritious milk options in school cafeterias while strengthening America's dairy industry.

The Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act updates federal school nutrition standards to allow schools participating in the National School Lunch Program to serve both flavored and unflavored whole milk. Whole milk is a nutrient-dense option that supports healthy childhood development, providing essential calcium, potassium, vitamin D, and protein critical for bone growth, cognitive development, and overall health. This legislation also supports American dairy farmers by increasing demand for domestically produced milk, benefiting family farms across rural communities, including those throughout Upstate New York.

"Healthy kids need real nutrition, and whole milk delivers the essential nutrients children need to grow, learn, and thrive," said Congresswoman Tenney. "This commonsense law gives schools greater flexibility to serve wholesome, nutrient-rich options while supporting the hardworking dairy farmers who are the backbone of Upstate New York's economy. At a time when family farms are facing rising costs and global competition, expanding access to American dairy products strengthens both student health and our rural communities. I was pleased to support this bipartisan effort and thank President Trump for signing it into law to benefit children, farmers, and families across our state and the nation."
