The City of West Hollywood is responding to a large-scale water main break on Sunset Boulevard at Holloway Drive. The water main break was first reported in the early morning hours of Thursday, July 16, 2026.
The City of West Hollywood's Department of Public Works is responding to the scene, and personnel are being deployed to direct traffic.
The public is urged to avoid driving in the area.
The City of West Hollywood is working with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) and Metropolitan Water District (MWD) to determine next steps. There is currently no timeline for water main repairs.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department issued a Nixle Advisory - at approximately 5 a.m. on July 16, 2026 - with the following road closures:
As water continues to flow, additional streets may be shut down accordingly.
