Ambassador of Morocco to ASEAN presents Letter of Credence to the Secretary-General of ASEAN
JAKARTA, 10 August 2026 - A newly-appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to ASEAN, H.E. Redouane Houssaini, presented his Letter of Credence to the Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, at the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat today.
Secretary-General Dr. Kao congratulated Ambassador Houssaini on his assumption of office and reaffirmed the ASEAN Secretariat's commitment to further strengthening the ASEAN-Morocco Sectoral Dialogue Partnership established in 2023. The Secretary-General also expressed appreciation for Morocco's support for ASEAN Community-building efforts.
Ambassador Houssaini thanked Secretary-General Dr. Kao for the warm welcome. He looked forward to working closely with ASEAN Member States and the ASEAN Secretariat in further strengthening Morocco's ties and cooperation with ASEAN during his term of office.
Morocco has accredited its first Ambassador to ASEAN since 2010. Ambassador Houssaini succeeds Ambassador Ouadia Benabdellah, who completed his tenure in April 2025.
