SCO Secretariat participates in the CSTO Scientific Conference

On April 27, 2026, in Moscow, at the invitation of the Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation and the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) a delegation of the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation took part in the international scientific and practical conference "Contours of a New Architecture of Collective Security: Current Issues of Information-Analytical Partnership of the CSTO."

The conference was attended by heads of executive and legislative authorities of Russia, representatives of strategic research institutes from SCO member states, ambassadors and members of the diplomatic corps, as well as representatives of the international expert and academic community.

In his speech at the conference's plenary session SCO Deputy Secretary-General Ahmad Saidmurodzoda informed participants about the comprehensive work being carried out within the SCO to modernize mechanisms for countering security challenges and threats, as well as the political and diplomatic response measures being taken to address crisis situations emerging in the region. He emphasized the SCO's commitment to bloc-based and confrontational approaches to solving problems of international and regional development in accordance with the Tianjin Declaration of the SCO Council of Heads of State. The Deputy Secretary-General particularly noted the importance of consistently implementing the Roadmap for the Development of Cooperation between the SCO, the CIS, and the CSTO, approved in September 2025, with an emphasis on enhancing cooperation among the scientific and expert communities of the member states of the three organizations.
