Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP Advises Slope Software on Sale to Akur8

ATLANTA (April 3, 2026) - Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP ("SGR") is pleased to announce that the Firm recently advised Slope Software (Slope) on its sale to Akur8, a global actuarial artificial intelligence platform. SGR has served as legal counsel to Slope since the company's founding as an Atlanta-based Insurtech startup and through its various venture capital investment rounds.

The transaction marks a significant strategic development in the actuarial technology sector. Slope's platform, SLOPE, is a fully hosted cash-flow modeling solution that supports projections across the policy lifecycle, from pricing and valuation to forecasting. The acquisition enables Akur8 to expand its offerings beyond its core property and casualty market into the life and annuity market, broadening its mission to serve actuaries worldwide. Following the acquisition, SLOPE will be integrated into Akur8's product portfolio as Akur8 Life.

The SGR legal team was led by Erin P. McCallum, a Corporate Practice partner in the Firm's Atlanta office, and included Madeline T. Wakim, a Corporate Practice associate in the Atlanta office, Sophia Magill, a Corporate Practice law clerk in the New York office, Brandon E. Sherlinski, an Executive Compensation and Employee Benefits Practice partner in the Jacksonville office, and Brett Lockwood, a Corporate Practice partner in the Atlanta office.
