Help Keep Utah Warm: Give Winter Gear a New Purpose

Winter in Utah is easier when we look out for one another. Clearing out a few unused coats, gloves or blankets from your closet is a practical way to show support for local families who need a little extra help this season.

Through Bank of Utah's annual Warm Bodies, Warm Souls clothing drive, your gifts go directly to local non-profits serving our communities.

Join This Year's Drive: Oct. 19 - Nov. 20, 2026

Bring gently used winter gear to any Bank of Utah location, or make an online contribution directly to the drive fund. Visit the Warm Bodies, Warm Souls clothing drive page for requested items, branch details and online donation options.

A Warm Coat Can Ease More Than the Cold

Winter brings expenses that can stretch an already tight budget. When a child needs a larger coat or a pair of boots wears out, replacing those essentials may mean making difficult choices about other household needs.

Donated clothing gives local charities more resources to respond. A warm layer can help a child on the way to school, someone walking to work or a person spending time outside without reliable shelter.

Warm Bodies, Warm Souls connects people who have something to give with organizations that know the needs in their communities. Whether you contribute a few items or organize a collection, your participation helps care for local neighbors.

Building on Last Year's Generosity

Together, Utahns contributed 561 bags of clothing and $10,040 in monetary donations last year. With winter right around the corner, this year's drive is our opportunity to build on that success and reach even more families.

Last year's generosity gives us something to build on in 2026.

Behind those totals were people choosing to help: families passing along winter gear, individuals contributing money and businesses encouraging their team members to participate.

One Local Business Turned New Coats Into a Way to Give

Great Dane of Utah, a longtime Bank of Utah client, has turned winter gear donation into an annual tradition.

Each year, the Salt Lake City trailer dealership provides its team members with brand-new coats. In turn, team members donate their gently used coats to the Warm Bodies, Warm Souls drive, passing along warmth to others in the community season after season.

It's an idea other workplaces could make their own. Invite colleagues to bring winter items they no longer use, gather donations as a team or share the drive's details with people who might want to participate.
