Augusta, Georgia Closed due to Winter Weather Event
AUGUSTA, GA (January 21, 2025) - Augusta, Georgia Government continues to monitor current winter weather conditions. Out of an abundance of caution and the potential for black ice on roads, Augusta, Georgia Government offices will be closed Wednesday, January 22, 2025. The safety of our employees and residents remains our top priority, and this measure has been implemented to ensure the well-being of all.
Residents are encouraged to stay off roads or limit travel due to the potentially hazardous road conditions. If travel is necessary, please drive with extreme caution.
Augusta Animal Services: Closed for drop-offs, adoptions, and all other services.
Augusta Transit: All Augusta Transit bus services have been suspended until further notice.
Augusta Landfill: The Augusta Landfill will open from 8:30am to 4:00pm.
Trash collection: Service collection will be delayed one day. Wednesday customers will be collected on Thursday, Thursday customers will be collected on Friday, and so on.
