DALLAS - More than 200 students at Clara Oliver Elementary School are in for a treat as United to Learn brings a fun-filled Book Bash to campus, beginning at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 7. The celebration will combine music, excitement, and literacy, with students receiving a free book of their own to take home. The event aims to spark a love of reading and make choosing a new book an experience students won't forget.

VISUALS: Soccer legend 'Chicharito' surprises Dallas ISD student
A Hispanic Heritage Month project at Buckner Terrace Montessori turned into a huge surprise for student Yahir G., after he chose professional soccer player Javier "Chicharito" Hernández as the subject of his project. A school custodian spotted Yahir's work and, through a series of connections, photos of the project eventually reached Chicharito himself. In response, the soccer star sent Yahir a special package filled with team souvenirs and an autographed photo, turning a classroom assignment into an unforgettable memory.
