Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau met today with Mozambican Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Maria Manuela dos Santos Lucas to sign a bilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on global health cooperation. The MOU will help Mozambique build a more robust and vigorous healthcare system and move toward self-reliance. The Deputy Secretary also recognized Mozambique's cooperation with the United States on a variety of important economic and commercial matters, including liquefied natural gas and critical minerals. Both parties noted the importance of security cooperation to promote the interests of both countries.
