NOW HIRING - Deputy Auditor

McLean County is seeking a personable, detail-oriented, organized, and dependable professional to join our Auditor's Office as a Deputy Auditor specializing in Payroll, Human Resources, and Wellness. In this role you will serve as the first point of contact for new employees, ensuring a smooth onboarding process, and a positive start to their career with McLean County. While meeting the stated qualifications is preferred, McLean County is willing to consider and train candidates who demonstrate strong potential and a willingness to learn.

What You'll Do:

  • Process payroll for county employees.
  • Assist with HR functions including onboarding, benefits, and personnel records.
  • Coordinate the county's employee wellness program.
  • Prepare reports, newsletters, and maintain county forms.
  • Provide backup for payroll, HR, and other administrative duties.

What We're Looking For:

  • Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of payroll processes, HR functions, and basic accounting principles.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat; knowledge of School ERP Pro is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
