Birtcher Anderson & Davis Mourns the Passing of Arthur B. Birtcher, Real Estate Industry Pioneer, Entrepreneur, Mentor, and Friend

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif., August 2026 - It is with profound sadness that Birtcher Anderson & Davis announces the passing of Arthur B. ("Art") Birtcher, Co-Chairman, industry leader, and beloved member of the Birtcher Anderson & Davis family. Art passed away on August 1, 2026, leaving behind an extraordinary legacy of leadership, innovation, integrity, and service to the real estate industry and the communities he touched.

For generations, Art was synonymous with entrepreneurial vision and excellence in commercial real estate. As a leader of the Birtcher organization, whose roots date back to 1939, he helped shape one of Southern California's most respected real estate companies while contributing to the growth and evolution of the industry throughout the United States and internationally. His influence can be seen not only in the buildings and communities he helped create, but in the countless professionals he mentored and inspired throughout his career.

Art believed that relationships, trust, and long-term stewardship were the foundation of success. His business philosophy emphasized integrity, accountability, and treating people with respect. Whether working with investors, tenants, employees, non-profit leaders, public officials, or business partners, he led with humility and a genuine commitment to doing what was right.

Throughout his career, Art helped guide the Birtcher organization through multiple economic cycles, periods of tremendous growth, and transformative opportunities. He possessed a rare ability to see opportunity where others saw uncertainty and remained steadfast in his belief that success was built one relationship at a time. Beyond his business accomplishments, Art was known for his wisdom, generosity, and unwavering loyalty to those around him.

"His vision helped shape our company, but his character shaped our culture. He taught us the value of hard work, integrity, perseverance, and treating others with respect. The impact he had on our organization and on the people who had the privilege of knowing him will endure for generations."

Art's legacy extends far beyond real estate. He believed deeply in community involvement, philanthropy, and investing in people. He took great pride in founding Camino Health Center, as well as advising organizations including the Diocese of Orange, and Caritas Corporation, a non-profit organization that purchased Mobile Home Communities with the intent of keeping the properties affordable for its residents. He also loved to see others succeed and was always willing to share his experience, insight, and encouragement. Many of the leaders in today's real estate industry can trace part of their professional growth to Art's mentorship, support, and example.

While the company mourns this tremendous loss, it also celebrates a remarkable life defined by vision, purpose, and meaningful relationships. The principles Art championed continue to serve as the foundation of Birtcher Anderson & Davis and will guide the organization into the future.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Art's wife, family, friends, business associates, and all those whose lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
