Your family will be amazed at the stories created by light and shadows. You might be inspired to create your own at home!

Dance Party Games

Wednesday, June 18 from 2 to 3 p.m.; for students entering 1st through 5th grades (Civic Center)
This isn't just a dance party; it's also filled with interactive games! Slip on your shoes and join us for fun, no skills required!

Teen Doodle Spot

Thursday, June 19 from 5 to 6:30 p.m.; for ages 12 to 18 (Teen Room)
Love to doodle? Create, explore new techniques, and connect with fellow teen artists in a laid-back drawing session! Bring your favorite pens, pencils, or sketchbooks-limited supplies will be provided. This program is led by a Teen Advisory Board member.

Orbit Learns about the Library

Saturday, June 21 from 11 a.m. to noon; for students going into 1st through 5th grades (Civic Center)
Join us for a visit from baseball's favorite mascot, Orbit. He will learn about the importance of reading, kindness, and the library.

Puzzle and Game Exchange

Saturday, June 21 from 1 to 3 p.m.; for ages 18+
At the public's request at our last craft swap, the Library will be having a puzzle and game exchange. Bring the puzzles and games you want to donate and swap them with others in the community!

Come explore the puzzles, games, and kits we have upstairs for adults, as well.

Think you know everything about the blue blur and his friends? Then put that knowledge to the test at this trivia event - all themed around Sonic the Hedgehog!

Teen Henna Workshop

Monday, June 23 from 5 to 6:30 p.m.; for ages 12 to 18
Create stunning henna designs! Discover this ancient art form using natural, plant-based dye as you learn to apply intricate, temporary designs on yourself and others.

Gulfy and Friends Save the Day

Our friends from the Texas Marine Mammal Stranding Network will bring their mascot, Gulfy. Join us for an interactive program about our ocean friends!

Cool Chemistry

Wednesday, June 25 from 2 to 3 p.m.; for students going into 1st through 5th grades (Civic Center)
The Houston Museum of Natural Science will provide an engaging, fun, and informative program about the chemistry found all around us!

Teen Crafternoon

Wednesday, June 25 from 3:30 to 5 p.m.; for ages 12 to 18
Feeling crafty? We'll supply the materials, you bring the ideas. Drop in, try something new, and craft alongside fellow teens!

On June 25, we'll be making faux stained glass mosaics. Join us on July 23, as well, to decorate rubber ducks!

Weavers and Spinners: Drop Spindle Class

Saturday, June 28 from 2 to 4 p.m.; for ages 18+
An introduction to the traditional art of spinning using a traditional wooden top whorl drop spindle. The class is limited to 20 people. Please register here.
