The Commonwealth University-Bloomsburg Doctor of Audiology Program participated in the Pennsylvania Academy of Audiology's Lobby Day in June at the Pennsylvania Capitol in Harrisburg.

Faculty and students met with Pennsylvania senators and house members to advocate for legislation that strengthens hearing healthcare, including HB 80 (Audiology & Speech-Language Pathology Interstate Compact), HB 1670 (expanded hearing aid coverage) and modernization of the audiology scope of practice to align Pennsylvania law with current Au.D. education and training.

These advocacy efforts support improved patient access to high-quality hearing healthcare for Pennsylvanians, while demonstrating the program's commitment to leadership, service and advancing the profession.

Students who participated in Lobby Day were Alaina Montoya, of Belle Mead, New Jersey; Sharon Sajan, of Philadelphia; Riley Wood, of LeRoy, New York; Lily Yuschock, of Mount Carmel; Shelby Klingensmith, of Apollo; Hannah Lambert, of East Bridgewater, Massachusetts; Nicole Hannah, of Smyrna, Delaware; Isabelle Fisher, of Breezewood; Grace Schafer, of Bloomsburg; KayLynn Davis, of Frechtown, New Jersey; and Anthony Bruno, of Old Forge.
