Florida's Bonnie Smetzer Joins National Executive Committee

ARLINGTON, Va. | January 22, 2026 - Bonnie Smetzer, Executive Vice President at Asset Living, has been officially named 2026 Secretary of the National Apartment Association's (NAA) Board of Directors. She was formally installed at NAA's annual Assembly of Delegates, held in Atlanta last November.

A longtime leader of apartment operations for more than 40 years, Bonnie now directs multifamily operations for Asset Living across Florida and Southeast Coast. Starting as a founding partner with JMG Realty, Bonnie's background spans multiple different areas, including new construction, affordable housing, high-rise apartments and more.

"Bonnie's longtime industry experience and leadership have been truly powerful, and I am thrilled that she will be joining NAA's Executive Committee to strengthen NAA's leadership and continue her legacy of meaningful impact," said NAA President and CEO Bob Pinnegar. Smetzer attended the University Georgia and studied Journalism. She also earned a Certified Property Manager designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management. Smetzer began volunteering in the industry with her local apartment association, eventually serving as president of the Florida Apartment Association and as a regional vice president with NAA for eight years. Today, she is a nationally recognized thought leader on industry trends, operations and affordable housing.
