Prague-Global law firm Dentons has strengthened its Corporate and M&A practice in Prague with the arrival of partner Jan Stejskal. His recruitment is part of the Firm's ongoing investment into building one of the strongest cross-border transactional teams in Central and Eastern Europe, combining Czech, US and English law capability.
Jan Stejskal advises private equity funds, family offices, financial institutions, founders and corporations on fundraising, joint ventures, and acquisitions. Triple qualified in England and Wales, New York and the Czech Republic, he focuses on complex domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, with a particular emphasis on Czech- and CEE-based clients. He is recognized as a leading M&A and private equity lawyer by international legal directories such as Chambers Global and IFLR1000. Before joining Dentons, he was a partner at Perkins Coie in London, and prior to that at White & Case in Prague.
His arrival follows the recent move of Rob Irving, Co-Head of the Europe Corporate and M&A practice, from Dentons' Budapest to Prague office in 2025. A New York-qualified M&A and private equity lawyer, Irving has more than three decades of experience in high-profile transactions across Central and Southeastern Europe. He works extensively with private equity funds, institutional investors and multinational corporations on complex acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures.
"Jan's arrival is a major step in our long-term strategy of building a first-choice platform for complex, cross-border transactions for CEE-based financial and technology groups out of Prague," said Petr Zákoucký, Partner and Co-Head of Corporate and M&A in the Czech Republic. "The strengthening of our Prague-based M&A team goes hand in hand with addition of new English and New York law qualified colleagues in structured finance and capital markets."
"I am delighted to join Dentons at a time when the CEE market is seeing a steady rise in outbound investment, with Czech and regional investors looking abroad for growth," said Jan Stejskal. "Dentons' global presence in more than 80 countries and integrated team is a great fit for transactions involving multiple jurisdictions. From Prague, we can support clients on deals across the globe."
